Trompe L'oeil (pronounced loy) this French term, meaning,fool the eye refers to the art of painting a three-dimensional effect on a flat surface. A fake opened window with painted scenery fools the eye as the real thing





Venetian Plasters is not a faux finish, its origins in Roman times and was rediscovered by Palladio in the 16th century. he revived this ancient technique and then used it in his villas throughout the Venetian region of Italy. Venetian Plaster is hand trowel in multiple coats and colors and then usually waxed or burnished by hand using a stainless steel trowel to get the low luster shine. An excellent wall or ceiling finish can bring ambiance to any room.



Glazing is a translucent material applied with brush, sponge, rag, and cheesecloth. Then manipulated in different fashions to get a desired affect. Glazing is the basis for almost all-decorative painting and is applied in as many as 6 colors at once or layered in multiple coats. This can be used from clouds on ceilings to glazing flat or textured walls or even fantasy finishes.



European Textures is using only one kind of plaster or many different ones layered on top of one another to produce the look of rock, stone, and stucco then glazed. One of the best finishes to change the look of a room to a personal and unique room. The texture can be almost flat to raised heavy one.



Embedded finishes are glazes when wet are chemically trans fused together to create wall finishes dramatic, unusually, and totally unique. Can be done over flat walls or textured walls.



Schaibin is a shortcut method of achieving beautiful and impressive finishes using "broken" copper, silver, Dutch metal, and aluminum leaf. In both there pure metallic form, and with glazed or chemically tarnished patinas. Schaibin finishes are applicable on surfaces ranging from small architectural elements to large walls and ceilings.



Graining or "faux bois", combines traditional techniques with modern materials. The analysis of wood structure, layering, accurate grain pattern, choosing are simulations of realistically constructed solid wood or veneer panels using the following woods: mahogany, burl, cherry, walnut, oak, rosewood, macassar ebony and satinwood. Used on walls doors and furniture and even exterior application.



Distressing and Aging produces sophisticated worn, chipped, embedded, aged classic and "antiqued" finishes on both simple and exquisitely carved molding. These techniques apply to molding, furniture, architectural elements and cabinetry. They are the perfect compliment to the wonderful glazed and textured wall finishes.



Fresco Plaster Finish is a one or two coat plaster finish that is designed for interior walls and ceilings. It is a two coat, wet wall application that can be hand toweled over any sound substrate such as drywall, plaster, concrete, certain woods ECT. The plaster makes up one of the worlds most unique and aesthetically pleasing wall coverings today. Fresco Plaster Finish is being specified today in all ranges of arenas from hospitality to residential.



Stenciling is an excellent accent as a border, on trim, or ivy on walls if you can imagine it stenciling is one of the best forms of wall art. With new techniques depth can be achieved to look like freehand painting.
